Two CVDK Watches Nominated for the GPHG 2026

Two very different expressions of CVDK astronomical watchmaking have been nominated in two separate categories at the 2026 GPHG. The nominations were announced on 1 September as part of the official selection for the 26th edition of the awards.

Venus Annual Calendar — Calendar and Astronomy

The Venus Annual Calendar combines an Annual Calendar with a mechanical representation of Venus, Earth and the Moon moving around the Sun in real time.

Its astronomical display is built from four separate discs, three of which rotate to carry the celestial bodies, and is driven by the CKM-01 manufacture movement with the specially developed Venus module.

For the nominated reference, the restrained matt white dial gives the astronomical and calendar indications an almost instrument-like clarity. The Annual Calendar follows the individual lengths of the months around the perimeter of the dial.

The Venus Annual Calendar is nominated in the Calendar and Astronomy category.

Grand Planetarium Eccentric Silicium — Mechanical Exception

Created with Revolution, the Grand Planetarium Eccentric Silicium presents the real-time orbits of all eight planets, from Mercury to Neptune, across a dial constructed from nine pieces of oxidised silicon.

The planets and sections of their orbital paths are applied with Super-LumiNova, adding another dimension to the astronomical display after dark.

It has been nominated in the Mechanical Exception category.
