CVDKAriadne Sapphire Smoked Black
The CVDK Ariadne Sapphire Smoked Black gives the familiar Ariadne architecture a darker and more technical character. Its transparent smoked sapphire dial reveals the mechanics beneath, while black calendar and moon phase discs integrate into the layered construction. Extended Super-LumiNova details add another dimension after dark, all housed within a 40 mm stainless steel case and paired with a black Sailcloth/FKM strap.
The mechanicsbecome the dial
Rather than concealing the mechanism behind an opaque surface, the Ariadne Sapphire Smoked Black uses transparent sapphire to reveal the architecture beneath its indications. The smoked treatment softens the view into the movement, creating depth without sacrificing the structure of the dial.
Black day, month and moon phase discs continue the monochrome character, while matching dark counter rings keep the individual displays integrated into the composition. The result is recognisably Ariadne, but with the mechanics themselves becoming an important part of its visual identity.
Specifications
The Ariadne combines hours and minutes with small seconds, a 24-hour indication and a complete calendar displaying day, date and month. Its chronograph measures elapsed seconds, minutes and hours, while the moon phase at 6 o’clock adds the astronomical indication.

Chronograph & Moon Phase
The Ariadne combines a full chronograph with calendar and astronomical indications. Elapsed time is measured through seconds, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter, accompanied by day, date, month and a 24-hour indication.
At 6 o’clock, the moon phase shows the progression of the lunar cycle. When the Moon appears to the left of centre, it is in its first quarter; at the centre, it is full Moon; and to the right, it is in its last quarter. When the Moon disappears, the display indicates new Moon.
Ariadne illuminated
The Sapphire Smoked Black extends Super-LumiNova beyond the Ariadne’s familiar moon phase. The day and month indications use luminous text, allowing the calendar display to emerge clearly through the dark sapphire construction after the surrounding light fades.
Super-LumiNova is also applied to the chronograph seconds hand and the tip of the date hand. Together with the luminous moon phase, these details create multiple points of light across the transparent dial, giving the watch a distinctly different character at night.
