The CVDK Real Moon Joure places a rotating three-dimensional Moon at the centre of its astronomical display. Its mechanical moon phase follows the lunar cycle with such precision that it deviates by only one day in 11,000 years. This interpretation combines the complication with a white guilloché dial, a 40 mm stainless steel case and blue ostrich foot leather.
The Moon,in three dimensions
Rather than representing the lunar cycle with a conventional disc, the Real Moon Joure uses a miniature three-dimensional Moon that rotates to reveal its changing illuminated surface.
Its movement follows the Moon’s 29.530588853-day cycle around Earth with exceptional precision. The mechanism accumulates an error of just one day in 11,000 years, making it the most accurate mechanical 3D moon phase ever incorporated into a watch.
