The CVDK Real Moon Joure Mother of Pearl combines one of CVDK’s most precise astronomical complications with the natural variation of mother-of-pearl. A rotating three-dimensional Moon reproduces the true lunar phase with a deviation of only one day in 11,000 years, while the iridescent dial changes subtly with the light. The watch is housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case with a black ostrich foot leather strap.
Light aroundthe Moon
No two mother-of-pearl surfaces appear exactly alike. Its natural layers reflect light in changing tones, giving the dial a character that shifts with the angle from which it is viewed.
Within this changing surface, the three-dimensional Moon provides a more literal expression of the same relationship between light and shadow. As it rotates through its 29.530588853-day cycle, its visible illuminated surface changes to reproduce the true lunar phase.

The most accurate 3D moon phase
The Real Moon Joure approaches the lunar cycle through a physical miniature of the Moon itself. As the sphere rotates, the changing boundary between its illuminated and shadowed surfaces reproduces the moon phase in three dimensions.
The mechanism is calculated around the Moon’s 29.530588853-day cycle and accumulates a deviation of only one day in 11,000 years. This precision makes it the most accurate mechanical 3D moon phase in the world. In 2014, the Real Moon Joure was unanimously awarded European Watch of the Year by an international jury in London.
