CVDKPlanetarium Aventurine
The CVDK Planetarium combines the world’s smallest mechanical Planetarium with a deep blue Aventurine dial. At 6 o’clock, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn orbit the Sun according to their real astronomical periods, set against a naturally sparkling night-sky backdrop. The watch is housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case and paired with a blue ostrich foot leather strap.
A Planetariumbeneath the stars
The Aventurine dial gives the Planetarium a natural connection to the night sky. Fine metallic inclusions create shifting points of light across the deep blue surface, while the mechanical Solar System remains in continuous motion at 6 o’clock.
Within this compact display, six planets follow orbital periods ranging from less than three months to almost three decades. The result places two different scales of astronomy together on one dial: the visual impression of a star-filled sky and the calculated movement of the planets around the Sun.

Specifications
The CVDK Planetarium displays hours and minutes together with date and month indications. At 6 o’clock, its dedicated astronomical module reproduces the real-time orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn around the Sun.

The smallest mechanical Planetarium
At 6 o’clock sits the smallest mechanical Planetarium in the world. The Sun occupies the centre, surrounded by Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, each moving according to its actual astronomical period.
Mercury completes an orbit in 87.97 days, followed by Venus in 224.70 days, Earth in 365.24 days and Mars in 686.98 days. The outer planets move on a very different scale: Jupiter takes 11.86 years to circle the Sun, while Saturn requires 29.46 years. All six cycles are brought together within one compact mechanical complication.

Made in theCVDK atelier
Every Christiaan van der Klaauw watch is made by hand and subjected to extensive quality testing in the atelier. Each watch is delivered in a CVDK presentation box and covered by a three-year warranty on the movement and case. Watches from the Collection of Astronomical Masterpieces are also supplied with a removable Swiss Kubik watch winder to keep the astronomical complication running accurately.
