Planetarium Guilloché White Platinum in platinum with a white dial

Astronomical Masterpiece - CKPT2225

CVDKPlanetarium Guilloché White Platinum

The CVDK Planetarium combines the world’s smallest mechanical Planetarium with the understated character of platinum and a white guilloché dial. At 6 o’clock, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn orbit the Sun according to their real astronomical periods. A cognac ostrich foot leather strap adds a warm contrast to the 40 mm platinum case.

The white guilloché dial gives the Planetarium a finely structured backdrop, allowing light to move across its surface without distracting from the astronomical display. Blued indexes introduce a precise contrast, while the rhodium-plated Planetarium remains the visual focus at 6 o’clock.

Framed by platinum, the composition is restrained in colour but mechanically complex. Six planets continue their individual journeys around the Sun, each progressing at a different astronomical pace.

The smallest mechanical Planetarium

At 6 o’clock, the CVDK Planetarium reproduces six planetary cycles within the smallest mechanical Planetarium in the world. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn circle the Sun continuously, each moving according to its real astronomical period.

Mercury completes an orbit in 87.97 days, Venus in 224.70 days, Earth in 365.24 days and Mars in 686.98 days. Further outward, Jupiter takes 11.86 years to complete one revolution, while Saturn requires 29.46 years. Six different measures of planetary time are brought together within one compact mechanical display.

Made in theCVDK atelier

Every Christiaan van der Klaauw watch is made by hand and subjected to extensive quality testing in the atelier. Each watch is delivered in a CVDK presentation box and covered by a three-year warranty on the movement and case. Watches from the Collection of Astronomical Masterpieces are also supplied with a removable Swiss Kubik watch winder to keep the astronomical complication running accurately.
