CVDKPlanetarium Guilloché White White Gold

The CVDK Planetarium pairs the world’s smallest mechanical Planetarium with a white guilloché dial and a 40 mm white gold case. At 6 o’clock, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn orbit the Sun in real time, while the monochrome case and dial give the astronomical display a calm, precise setting.

A restrained framefor the Solar System

The white gold case and white guilloché dial give this Planetarium a particularly understated character. The finely patterned dial catches the light through its texture rather than colour, creating a quiet backdrop for the mechanical display at 6 o’clock.

Within that compact Planetarium, six planets follow their individual astronomical periods around the Sun. The contrast between the restrained exterior and the complexity of the complication keeps the focus firmly on the mechanics.

The smallest mechanical Planetarium

At 6 o’clock, the CVDK Planetarium presents six planetary orbits within the smallest mechanical Planetarium in the world. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn move around a central Sun according to their individual astronomical periods.

Mercury completes its orbit in 87.97 days, Venus in 224.70 days, Earth in 365.24 days and Mars in 686.98 days. Jupiter requires 11.86 years, while Saturn takes 29.46 years. These six very different cycles are continuously reproduced within one compact mechanical complication.

Made in theCVDK atelier

Every Christiaan van der Klaauw watch is made by hand and subjected to extensive quality testing in the atelier. Each watch is delivered in a CVDK presentation box and covered by a three-year warranty on the movement and case. Watches from the Collection of Astronomical Masterpieces are also supplied with a removable Swiss Kubik watch winder to keep the astronomical complication running accurately.
