CVDKPlanetarium Guilloché White Rose Gold

The CVDK Planetarium brings the world’s smallest mechanical Planetarium together with a white guilloché dial and the warmth of an 18 ct rose gold case. At 6 o’clock, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn orbit the Sun according to their real astronomical periods. A black ostrich foot leather strap completes this classical interpretation of the Planetarium.

The white guilloché dial gives the Planetarium a precise, architectural backdrop, its repeating texture changing subtly as light moves across the surface. Around it, the rose gold case introduces a warmer tone without competing with the astronomical display.

At 6 o’clock, six planets remain in continuous mechanical motion around the Sun. Their vastly different orbital periods are reduced into a compact display that forms the defining complication of the watch.

The smallest mechanical Planetarium

At 6 o’clock, the CVDK Planetarium reproduces six planetary orbits within the smallest mechanical Planetarium in the world. The Sun forms the fixed centre of the display, with Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn arranged around it.

Their motion follows real astronomical periods. Mercury completes its orbit in 87.97 days, Venus in 224.70 days, Earth in 365.24 days and Mars in 686.98 days. Jupiter requires 11.86 years, while Saturn takes 29.46 years. Each cycle moves continuously within the same compact mechanical system.

Made in theCVDK atelier

Every Christiaan van der Klaauw watch is made by hand and subjected to extensive quality testing in the atelier. Each watch is delivered in a CVDK presentation box and covered by a three-year warranty on the movement and case. Watches from the Collection of Astronomical Masterpieces are also supplied with a removable Swiss Kubik watch winder to keep the astronomical complication running accurately.
