Planetarium Blue Meteorite in stainless steel with a blue meteorite dial

Astronomical Masterpiece - CKPT33N6

CVDKPlanetarium Blue Meteorite

The CVDK Planetarium Blue Meteorite combines the world’s smallest mechanical Planetarium with a dial cut from blue meteorite. At 6 o’clock, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn move around the Sun according to their real astronomical periods, with hand-painted planets adding colour to the rhodium-plated display. The watch is housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case and paired with dark brown ostrich foot leather.

A dial shapedbeyond Earth

Every meteorite dial carries its own structure, formed long before the material became part of a watch. Here, its natural pattern is given a deep blue treatment, creating a surface that changes subtly across the dial and makes each execution visually individual.

At 6 o’clock, the mechanical Planetarium introduces a second expression of astronomy. Six hand-painted planets move around the Sun in real time, bringing actual planetary cycles onto a material whose own origins lie beyond Earth.

Specifications

The CVDK Planetarium combines hours and minutes with date and month indications and its signature astronomical complication. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn orbit the Sun in real time within the mechanical Planetarium at 6 o’clock.

The smallest mechanical Planetarium

At 6 o’clock sits the smallest mechanical Planetarium in the world. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn move around the central Sun according to their individual astronomical periods, reducing six planetary cycles into one compact mechanical display.

Mercury completes an orbit in 87.97 days, Venus in 224.70 days, Earth in 365.24 days and Mars in 686.98 days. Jupiter requires 11.86 years, while Saturn takes 29.46 years. Their continuous motion reveals just how differently time unfolds across the Solar System.

Made in theCVDK atelier

Every Christiaan van der Klaauw watch is made by hand and subjected to extensive quality testing in the atelier. Each watch is delivered in a CVDK presentation box and covered by a three-year warranty on the movement and case. Watches from the Collection of Astronomical Masterpieces are also supplied with a removable Swiss Kubik watch winder to keep the astronomical complication running accurately.
